Before you start
- Two or more PDF files, each within the 25 MB free-plan limit.
- Unlocked copies of any password-protected documents.
- The final page order; drag the files or use the arrow buttons to adjust it.
Step by step
- Drop two or more PDFs into the box — the order is kept exactly as listed.
- Check the list and remove any file you do not need.
- Press Start, then download the merged PDF.
Common mistakes
- Trying to merge an encrypted PDF directly. Unlock it first, then add the unlocked copy.
- Uploading a very large scan. Compress it or split it before merging.
After you download
Open the downloaded PDF and check the first and last pages to confirm the order. Uploaded and generated files are deleted automatically within two hours.
Questions and answers
Is there a file limit?
Free users can merge up to 20 files per task with a 25 MB limit per file. Huge scans are the usual reason a merge fails — compress them first.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Unlock them with the Unlock PDF tool first, then merge the unlocked copies.
Do bookmarks and links survive?
Page content and annotations are kept. Internal links between merged documents can break, because page numbers shift.
